Q1: You've been stranded on a desert island with only one standard-size travel suitcase. If you could only have 3 items in that suitcase, what would you want those items to be and why?

A lighter, a phone, and a knife. [Ken said without hesitation. This type of situation wasn’t all that unfamiliar with him, he was used to fighting in dangerous circumstances. Every single time he fought in the Dark Hour, he knew there was always a chance he was going to die.]

If the island has some wood, I could try to light it up to get the attention of any airplanes coming by. I would also try to get a phone to see if there is any reception, and a knife in case there could be any animals attacking me. [He didn’t want to be morbid but if he was going to survive, he had to fight]

Q2: Tell us about a defining event in your life that you think influenced who you are today.

[There was some hesitation from Ken. He didn’t want to think about that time in his life as he knew he made a grave mistake and he could never go back. That being said?]

When I had a friend save my life. If it weren’t for him, I probably wouldn’t be alive today. He was the one who taught me how to be strong and to let go of my own hate for everything around me. [He said with a hint of sadness. However, he shook his head before giving a small smile] Not only that, he was the one who also helped me get friends I never thought I would ever have! There are a lot of things I am grateful for because of him. [He would end it at that. He didn’t want people to think he was the one of the reasons why his friend ended up dying in the first place]

Q3: What does family mean to you and who do you consider a part of your family?

[Again, there was some hesitation on his end. Why were they asking so many intrusive questions?] Family means people who make you feel safe. They’re the ones who would protect you and go out of their way to help you no matter what. Family means even if we all disagree with something, we would do anything for them. [That being said, Ken looked up at the ceiling. He didn’t want to think about the events of what happened 2 years ago but it was true. SEES were his family despite not being blood related. He gave a small frown as he continued what to say next]

I know my mother will always be a part of my family but I consider the friends I made 2 years ago a part of it too. [Again, he would keep it vague. He knew Mitsuru didn’t want others to know about their involvement with SEES and the Shadow Operatives]

Q4: Tell me about a time you were involved in a personal conflict (not a physical fight). What would you do differently to resolve it?

[How in the world was Ken supposed to keep things vague with these questions? Taking a deep breath in, he really needed to figure out how to get around this. How was he supposed to explain how he had a choice. To live life knowing he was going to die or have amnesia? So much for trying to pretend he was just a normal teenager.]

I have a choice between living life ignorant to the truth or move forward despite it. I knew there was a chance pretending everything was okay when it wasn’t. However, I made the choice to know the truth. I wouldn’t have done anything differently because I don’t want to be blinded. Even if it hurts, I want to keep on fighting for what I believed in.

[Was that vague enough?]

Q5: Do you have any regrets? If so, what are the biggest ones? If not, what is something you wish you had gotten to do back home?

My friend's death. If I had the chance to go back and save my friend, I would. [He said before crossing his arms. He really didn’t want to talk about this] If I could go back in time, I would have told myself how much it was going to hurt later in life. I think he would have had a fulfilling life despite what he might say.

[As much as he wanted to say how much he wanted to save his leader, he knew she didn’t have any regrets. She knew what she was doing. To say that would be an insult to her]
